Members & Friends-

Our organization has been buzzing with activity over the past month. I am excited to share that we had a successful District Leadership Conference right here in Louisville. We hosted AAF affiliates from Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia for two days of workshops, planning and learning best practices. There are many great initiatives being implemented across our three-state district, and I am thrilled Louisville is helping lead the way.

Derby season is now past us, but we cannot mention Churchill Downs without mentioning our signature Spring Day at the Downs event! Every year hundreds of members, industry leaders, and clients look forward to this day of networking, races, and conversation. We enjoyed another packed house this year with good weather and great connections. A big thank you to all of our members, sponsors, and attendees that helped make this a Spring Day to remember!

As we push into May, you will notice several Public Service related opportunities on the
horizon. Part of being the voice of the industry is giving back to the community, and we always look forward to helping out our selected nonprofit with our Public Service Media Project. Consider being a part of these volunteer events and helping spread the word.

I look forward to seeing everyone at our Annual Membership Awards in June at the Kentucky Derby Museum!

-Chris Nation, 2018-2019 President
